Answers to frequent Beachcomber inquiries:

Hair Dryers are provided in every bathroom of each villa. Each villa laundry room has a full size washer/dryer and iron/ironing board. Cayman Electricity is the same as the US/Can: 110 Volts. Visitors from countries other than the US/Can. may require adaptors.

Traveling with infants: Beachcomber provides portable Pac N Play cribs and Highchairs at no extra charge. Full Size cribs are available for rent @ $75 per week. Babysitting may be arranged through the Beachcomber office.

Housekeeping service is provided Mon – Sat. A 6% Gratuity for housekeeping/laundry service is added to the nightly rate.

Security: Each villa has a safe. The property is patrolled by a security guard on duty 10 PM - 5 AM daily. Management is onsite 24/7 - accessed by direct cell phone contact: 345-925-1519.

Getting from Airport to Beachcomber: Taxis (Large vans for parties of 6 - 8) are lined up and waiting outside the airport terminal – a taxi dispatcher will arrange the cab w/invoice stating the fare which is a set fee depending on # of people/luggage. There is no hotel/condo transfer system available. Rental car agencies are located at the airport, across the street from the terminal. When renting a car: map/ directions to Beachcomber will be given at the rental office. Beachcomber is 10 – 15 car ride from airport.

Beachcomber provides FREE Under-Ground Parking. One parking space per villa. FREE Wireless Internet service is provided in each villa. To access go to: wireless connection on laptop, locate listed villa # then connect to your villa #.

There is a Local Bus Service running from West Bay (Turtle Farm) to George Town, daily, outside Beachcomber – Fare: US$ 2.50 per person – runs every 10 – 15 minutes.

Office Hours: Mon – Fri 9 – 5 / Sat 9 – 1 Closed Sun. If guests are arriving after office hours or on Sunday when the office is closed: Guest’s flight arrival information is required, so that the office may be open and available for any late or Sunday arrivals. Management is onsite 24/7 & is available for late check ins and any after hours emergencies. Office: 345-943-6500 or 345-925-1519 for emergency.

Check Out time is 11:00 AM – if guests have a later flight – luggage may be left in the reception office. There is no changing facility available.

Cancellation Policy: During High Season: Mid-Dec – Mid- Apr there is a 60 day cancellation period. If the cancellation is within the 60 day period, the full 50% deposit is forfeited. During Low Season: Mid-Apr – Mid-Dec there is a 30 day cancellation period. If the cancellation is within the 30 day period, the full 50% deposit is forfeited.

Travel Insurance is recommended if weather or health issues are pending.

Medical / Dental Services: Strand Medical Centre / Dr. Louis Cona and Strand Dental office are located across the street from Beachcomber open Mon – Sat. Strand Pharmacy is located in the Foster’s Food Fair located across the street from Beachcomber. George Town Hospital (public) or Chrissie Thomlinson Hospital (private) are available for any medical emergency. There is a 911 medical emergency system in place on island. Doctors are also available for ‘house calls’ at the condo when needed.

ATM machines are located around the island – Foster’s Food Fair and Scotia bank are located across the street from Beachcomber for banking/ ATM service.

Grocery stores / Liquor stores are closed on Sundays. Foster’s Food Fair is open Mon – Sat. 7 AM – 11 PM. Grocery placement for Sunday arrivals is available by request.

Restaurants are open 7 days a week. There are 12 restaurants within walking distance of Beachcomber. Hotels: Ritz Carlton, Westin, Sunshine Suites, Caribbean Club are within a short walking distance from Beachcomber.

Beachcomber villas are Smoke Free – Smoking is allowed in the outside areas, beach/pool area.

There are 2 elevators servicing the South Side and North Side of the Beachcomber building. Accessing both sides of the building down to the pool / beach.

The South side elevator goes directly to the Fitness Centre – Open 5 AM – 10 PM Daily. Fitness Centre is for guests 18 and older – no children are allowed in the gym at anytime. Bathroom, Water, Towels and TV are provided. Proper gym attire is required.

Beachcomber Beach is wide w/soft sand – no rocky shore or broken coral. The shoreline is a gradual slope into the sea for easy entry and exit. Water Temp: Dec – Apr: 76-78 degrees Apr – Nov: 82-84 degrees. Rainy Season: May – November.

There are 110 beach chaise lounges provided on the beach – Large 12’, movable umbrellas are provided as well as (2) 12’ X 14’ Thatched huts and numerous palm trees for protective shade. Beach towels are provided, Fresh Daily, by housekeeping. 4 large Weber Gas Grills are available on the beach for guest’s use.

Snorkel Gear may be rented at nearby watersports offices or may be purchased at local shops. Always ask in the office for any beach toys / floats that may have been left by previous guests. Otherwise, beach toys/ floats are readily available for purchase at Foster’s Food Fair across the street from Beachcomber.
